Yes is an English progressive rock band that formed in London in 1968. Their music is marked by sharp dynamic contrasts; often extended song lengths; esoteric, abstract lyrics; and a general showcasing of its members' instrumental skills. Yes blends symphonic and other 'classical' structures with their own brand of musical style. Despite a great many lineup changes, occasional splits within the group and the ever-changing trends in popular music, the band has continued on for nearly forty years and still retains a following. The band planned to have a 40th anniversary tour, Close to the Edge and Back, but, due to asthma attack that vocalist Jon Anderson suffered, the tour was cancelled.
